It all started when…

A girl in my Grade 9 science class showed me the music video for “What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction. Like every 14-year-old girl, I was in love.

I did whatever I could to see this band live. I went to rallies, I entered every competition, I plastered my bedroom walls with over 80 posters, I even painted a large canvas of the 1D boys to bribe a radio station for tickets at 4am…

This boyband infatuation introduced me into the world of fandoms, the buzz of live music and the power of music media. It was the foundation to the career I’ve built since.

I started reviewing every gig I went to (usually after spending all day camping out front to nab that front row spot), got my driver’s license to be in Nova 106.9FM’s street team, studied journalism and worked around the clock on whatever I could say ‘yes’ to.

My work has taken me to the UK, Canada and back to Australia; allowed me to see some of the most in-demand live shows and meet the people I now call my closest friends.
